Currently finishing construction, the Veil house sits on a desert lot in the North Scottsdale area. The residence is a net zero,  high-performance home. Solar control is integrated into the architecture through a series of fixed and operable elements, allowing the home to respond to changing sun angles, daily rhythms, and seasonal conditions.  Super insulation, rainwater collection, ICF construction, cork exterior siding and high efficiency systems are just a few of the sustainable features of the residence.

The project’s name comes from the multiple sun screening strategies built into the envelope of the home. Steel trellis, automated louvered systems and motorized awnings all work together to create a home that can open to the sun in the winter and shade the home in the summer.
