Bosca, Irish for box, is a modern design based on a  picture frame that focuses on distant mountain views.  The project is currently in design and is set on an extreme hillside property.  The simple floating box hovers above the natural desert and houses all of the main living areas, primary bedroom and office.  The lower level provides additional living space, seconday bedrooms and is shaded by the cantilevered floor above. 
 
The home is a seasonal sanctuary, designed for holidays, family gatherings, and time spent together, while also offering the flexibility to serve as a multigenerational home when needed. Shaped by its site, the house is defined by the evolving relationship between the people who inhabit it and the changing light, climate, and seasonality of the landscape.

A rainscreen of random metal vertical panels clads the entire upper level of the home.  A floating glass bridge delicately connects the cantilevered main house to the grounded garage volume which anchors the project to the desert floor.
