Nestled between countless boulders on a steep desert mountainside, PT House opens to 360 degree views. The design of the house provides unlimited light and vistas while still providing security and privacy. The project is designed for comfortable living with a thoughtfully designed floor plan and numerous energy conscious systems within the residence.
Post tensioned, cantilevered, concrete slabs float the home lightly above the site creating an intimate experience with the surrounding Sonoran desert. Butterfly roofs open every space to the continuous mountain views beyond. Daylight reaches all areas of the three-level structure and natural materials define the finish package inside and out.
The only siphonic rainwater harvesting system in Arizona provides rainwater to underground storage tanks while super insulated walls and high performance glazing create a comfortable thermal environment. Solar panels for power and water heating are hidden by the sloping butterfly roofs and combined with a battery system make this a net zero energy.
